Important Notice

Zhengzhou Yunyi Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Speedtest (the "App").

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please stop using the App. By tapping "Agree" or continuing to use the App, you confirm that you understand and agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. How We Collect and Use Information

1.1 Basic Principle

We collect and use information under the principles of lawfulness, fairness, necessity, and data minimization. We collect information needed to provide network testing, related local features, and advertising display.

1.2 Information Used by This App

Information Use Scenario Purpose Storage
Public IP address Home page and speed test results To show the current network exit IP and include it in recent test results. Stored locally in recent results and history.
Network status and network type Home page, speed test, website test, and diagnostics To determine whether the network is available and display Wi-Fi, cellular, or Ethernet status. Usually not persisted.
Wi-Fi status, DNS, gateway, and related network parameters Wi-Fi information and network detail pages To display current network parameters. Fields restricted by the Android system may be shown as unavailable. Usually not persisted.
Speed test result data Home page, history, and result image sharing To display download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter, test node, and quality evaluation. Stored locally in SharedPreferences.
Website address entered by you Website test To test website availability, response time, loading duration, and page size. Not persisted.
Domain, host, or port entered by you DNS test, route diagnostics, and port detection To perform the network diagnostic action you request. Not persisted.
Theme, language, speed test node preference, and privacy consent state Settings and first-use privacy gate To save local preferences and determine whether network testing features can be used. Stored locally in SharedPreferences.
Advertising ID, device and network information, and ad interaction information Selected advertising service (Google AdMob or Pangle) To request, display, attribute, measure, optimize, and protect ads from fraud. Processed by the advertising SDK included in the selected app build under its own rules.

Important Statement

Before you agree to this Privacy Policy, the App will not start network testing features or initialize the advertising SDK. The App does not require account registration or login.

2. App Permission Description

To provide network testing functions, the App declares the following permissions in AndroidManifest.xml. The App follows the minimum necessary permission principle and does not request runtime sensitive permissions on first launch.

2.1 Necessary Permissions

Permission Permission Code Scenario Purpose
Internet android.permission.INTERNET Speed test, website test, DNS test, and diagnostics To access the network, obtain public IP information, perform download and upload speed tests, test website response, resolve domains, and run network diagnostics.
Network State android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE While the App is running To determine whether the current network is available and identify Wi-Fi, cellular, or Ethernet status before starting tests.
Wi-Fi State android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE Wi-Fi information and network detail pages To display current Wi-Fi status, link speed, frequency band, DNS, gateway, and other network parameters where available.
Advertising ID com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID Advertising display The selected advertising SDK may add this permission through manifest merging. It may be used for ad display, frequency control, attribution, and measurement.

2.2 Sensitive Permissions Not Requested

The current version of the App does not request storage, photos/media, location, contacts, SMS, phone, camera, microphone, calendar, notification, or device administrator permissions.

The App also explicitly removes common sensitive permissions during manifest merging, including storage/media and location permissions, to prevent unnecessary permissions from being introduced by dependencies.

3. How We Store and Protect Information

3.1 Local Storage

Speed test history, the latest result, settings, language preference, theme preference, selected speed test node, and privacy consent state are stored on your device through Android SharedPreferences.

3.2 Network Transmission

When you use speed tests, website tests, DNS tests, or network diagnostics, the App sends network requests necessary to perform the test you initiated. Website addresses, domains, hosts, or ports entered by you are used only for that test and are not persisted by the App.

3.3 Result Image Sharing

When you share a speed test result image, the App generates the image in its app cache and shares it through Android FileProvider. The App does not read your files, albums, photos, or external storage.

4. Third-Party SDKs and Libraries

The App uses the following third-party libraries for technical functions and advertising display. Advertising SDKs may process information according to their own privacy policies and platform rules.

Library Purpose Description
OkHttp Network requests, speed tests, and website tests Used as a network request library. It does not actively collect user information by itself in this App.
AndroidX AppCompat / ConstraintLayout / Material Components UI framework and Android compatibility support Used to build local app screens and compatibility behavior.
Pangle / TikTok Pangle Ad Monetization SDK Overseas ad display May use advertising ID, device information, network information, and ad interaction information for ad requests, display, attribution, measurement, optimization, and anti-fraud.

AdMob builds use Google Mobile Ads Next-Gen SDK and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Google advertising may process IP addresses to estimate general location, device/account identifiers such as advertising ID and app set ID, product and advertising interactions, and performance diagnostics for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google SDK traffic uses TLS. UMP manages advertising privacy choices. Each build includes either AdMob or Pangle.

For details, see Google SDK data disclosure and Google Privacy Policy. When required, advertising privacy choices can be changed through Settings > Ad privacy options.
